It’s Been a While…

So, it’s been a while.

I started this blog in 2014, right after I got out of school. I wanted a space where I could share my thoughts on my favourite books, some writing woes and wisdoms, and things that inspired me to make positive change. As time went on, and I found it increasingly difficult to write about something new every week, I started writing about anything just so I’d have something to post. This space became a nuisance rather than a place to grow and explore.

After a break of almost seven months, my hope for this space is reinstated. As I take on several new adventures in life (new job, a Master of Arts degree, and the daunting task of finishing up edits on my MS and then having the courage to move on to what’s next), I find myself looking at this space with a whole new perspective. I am no longer concerned with the number of people reading, engaging, or sharing. Yes, sharing is important–it’s how we find some of our favourite people and places. However, becoming obsessed with the number of views, comments, or likes… it’s enough to drive a person mad.

Here, on my little corner of the internet, you will find all those things that make me smile or give me the urge to do something. Here you will find book reviews of stories that haunt me long after I turn the last page. You’ll find blogs on craft and the trials and triumphs of working on a project. There are likely to be many, many posts about baking, crafts, and travel. I aim for this space to be a place to fill up your personal cups; a place you can escape to, even for just a little while, and gain the perspective and/or encouragement to pursue whatever lights your soul on fire.

If you choose to hang out with me here, thank you. I hope I see you in the comments, but if I don’t, that’s okay. I know you’re there, and I’m here for you.

Let’s get to it, loves. Work hard, hustle harder. We’ve got this.
